The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is a comprehensive training program for experienced divers who aspire to become PADI-certified instructors. The IDC covers essential teaching techniques, diving theory, and practical skills that equip candidates to teach diving courses effectively and safely. The program includes two primary components: the Assistant Instructor (AI) course, which focuses on teaching skills and diving knowledge, and the Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) course, which emphasizes professional standards and teaching practices. After completing the IDC, candidates can take the Instructor Examination (IE), which, when passed, certifies them as PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors.
The Divemaster course is a professional-level scuba diving program designed to develop leadership skills and advanced diving knowledge. This course trains participants to supervise diving activities, assist instructors, and ensure dive safety. It covers topics like dive planning, risk management, equipment handling, and underwater navigation, along with rescue and emergency response skills. A Divemaster candidate typically completes a series of practical exercises, knowledge reviews, and workshops, gaining experience in guiding certified divers and assisting with training. Upon certification, Divemasters can work at dive centers globally, leading dives and helping instructors with student training.
