The PADI Dry Suit Diver course is designed for divers who want to extend their underwater adventures to colder environments, allowing them to dive comfortably in places that would be off-limits with traditional wetsuits. This course provides essential knowledge and skills for using dry suits, which keep you insulated and dry in cold water conditions, enabling longer, warmer, and more enjoyable dives.
In this course, you’ll learn about different types of dry suits, materials, and valve systems, as well as buoyancy control techniques specific to dry suit diving. You'll start with a knowledge development session to understand dry suit basics, then practice in a pool or controlled water environment to get comfortable with managing the suit’s buoyancy and trim. Finally, you’ll complete two open water dives to put your skills to the test.
Key skills covered include how to prevent and manage air shifts, proper weighting, and techniques for handling emergencies specific to dry suit diving. Upon completion, you’ll receive a PADI Dry Suit Diver certification, allowing you to explore colder waters worldwide, from alpine lakes to winter seascapes, with the confidence and safety that dry suit training provides.
